SALES PEOPLE PILE FAQ
The details behind
the practice.
What the system is, how the experience works, and what participants can expect as they practice their way out of the pile.
Understanding Sales People Pile
What is the Sales People Pile?+
The Sales People Pile is where buyers put you the moment they feel “the close” coming—when the conversation stops feeling like understanding and starts feeling like being sold.
It reflects a natural buyer reflex shaped by every premature recommendation, predictable pitch, and closing move that came before you. Once the buyer recognizes the pattern, you become just another one of the hundreds of salespeople competing for their time, attention, and money.
You do not talk your way out of the pile. You do not close your way out of the pile. You earn your way out by creating a meaningfully different experience for the buyer.
The platform built around that idea is an adaptive practice system designed to help salespeople develop the skills that can create that different experience.
What is an adaptive practice system?+
An adaptive practice system does not move every participant through identical, pre-scripted content or simply place them inside a collection of generic roleplays.
Each situation is intentionally authored, but the conversation responds to the questions you choose to ask. The evidence you produce influences the coaching you receive, the skills that deserve reinforcement, and the practice that should follow.
Even when two participants enter the same situation, their conversations, discoveries, missed opportunities, coaching, and eventual progression may be different.
You are not responsible for prompting the system, diagnosing your own weakness, or selecting the lesson you already know you need. The system uses evidence across your sessions to help determine what deserves attention next.
The structure is intentionally designed. The practice is adaptive. Was this program created by AI?+
No. The principles behind the program were developed through live work with salespeople and sales teams.
The situations, coaching architecture, progression, and participant experience are intentionally designed around those principles. AI plays the buyer, responds to the questions you choose to ask, and helps deliver feedback grounded in evidence from the conversation.
AI makes the experience responsive, but it did not invent the learning system.
In short: this experience is human-designed and AI-delivered.Understanding The Skill of Questioning
Who is The Skill of Questioning for?+
The program is for individual salespeople who view selling as a craft and want to improve independently of a manager, employer, or company training program.
It is especially relevant for salespeople who want to:
- Understand prospects and their situations more deeply.
- Become less dependent on scripts and memorized questions.
- Remain present instead of preparing their next pitch.
- Recognize what deserves to be explored.
- Develop questioning skill that travels across products, industries, and methodologies.
What is this program—and what isn’t it?+
- A private adaptive practice system.
- A structured twelve-week questioning progression.
- Human-designed and AI-delivered.
- Evidence-grounded coaching.
- Practice intended to transfer across different situations.
- Individual development owned by the participant.
- A list of “perfect” sales questions.
- Another script or sales framework to memorize.
- Rehearsal for one product, pitch, objection, or active deal.
- A generic AI chatbot or prompt library.
- A manager scorecard or employee-monitoring tool.
- A public score, leaderboard, or numeric “Question IQ.”
- A replacement for real customer conversations.
How is this different from traditional sales roleplay?+
Traditional roleplay usually recreates a specific product, buyer, objection, methodology, or active deal. Its purpose is often to prepare for one recognizable type of sales conversation.
The Skill of Questioning uses varied situations to practice the questioning skill beneath all of those conversations.
The purpose is not to perform a familiar script correctly. It is to notice how you question when no script tells you what to ask next—and then improve through focused coaching and repetition.
Is this just another AI sales roleplay?+
The AI conversation is the practice medium, not the entire product.
Behind each full session is:
- An intentionally authored situation.
- A coherent private decision structure.
- A defined questioning-skill architecture.
- Coaching grounded in transcript evidence.
- A focused progression system.
- Transfer into materially different situations.
- Evidence accumulated across repeated practice.
A generic AI roleplay can give you a character and start talking. This program determines why the conversation exists, what skill the practice is exercising, how the evidence should be evaluated, and what practice should follow.
Will the scenarios be based on my company or what I sell?+
Not ordinarily—and that is intentional.
This is not a rehearsal tool for your current product, industry, or active deal. You will practice across different business and consumer situations so the questioning skill must travel with you.
The goal is to improve the salesperson, not memorize the right questions for one sales environment.
Do I need expertise in the scenario’s industry?+
No.
Before every conversation, you receive a meeting brief explaining who you are, who you are meeting, why the conversation is happening, and what you legitimately know.
You are not expected to be a technical expert or invent a solution. Your job is to use questions to understand the person, the situation, and the decision.
Practicing privately
Am I practicing with another person?+
No. Every practice session is completed privately, on your own, with an AI buyer.
There is no class, practice partner, manager, or audience. It is a private place to make mistakes, receive coaching, and try again before a real conversation is on the line.
How does a practice session work?+
- Enter the situation. Receive a clear role, customer context, and reason for the conversation.
- Have the conversation. Ask questions naturally, listen to what emerges, and decide what deserves to be followed.
- Study the evidence. Receive a debrief grounded in what actually happened during the conversation.
- Apply the coaching. When appropriate, complete a shorter practice rep that asks you to use the coaching in a different situation.
Will I be told what questions to ask?+
No.
You will receive enough context to begin, but you will not receive a hidden-fact checklist, prescribed questions, or an answer key.
The purpose is to discover how you currently question—not how well you can follow another questioning framework.
What if I get stuck during a conversation?+
The experience includes optional assistance when you need it.
You can request additional context, understand why the situation matters, or ask for help identifying what may still deserve exploration. These assists help you reorient yourself without giving you an answer key or taking over the conversation.
What if the practice feels easy?+
Some situations may feel straightforward, especially at first. The purpose is not to make every scenario complicated or turn the conversation into a puzzle.
The challenge is in how you question:
- What do you notice?
- What do you assume?
- What do you follow?
- What do you miss?
- When do you decide you understand enough?
- What do you do next?
A simple situation can still reveal a great deal about how you operate when no script is in front of you. As the system gathers evidence, it can direct practice toward the questioning behaviors that deserve more attention.
How often should I practice?+
The program recommends two new practice sessions each week.
Each visit may include a full conversation, debrief, and shorter transfer rep. Space between sessions gives you time to reflect, recognize the behavior elsewhere, and return ready to practice again.
This is skill development—not content to consume as quickly as possible.
Can I repeat completed practice?+
Yes. Completed practice can be revisited.
Formal progression is built primarily through prescribed new sessions and evidence gathered across different situations. Repetition remains available when you want additional practice without racing ahead through the program.
Feedback and progression
What feedback will I receive?+
After a full session, you receive focused feedback grounded in evidence from the conversation. That may include:
- The discovery outcome.
- A missed opportunity.
- Skill-specific feedback.
- One Primary Coaching Focus.
- An optional Secondary Observation.
- Evidence from your actual questions and the buyer’s responses.
- Updated progress where the session adds meaningful evidence.
- A targeted practice rep when an appropriate one is available.
The goal is not to overwhelm you with a large scorecard. It is to identify the most useful thing to work on next.
How do I progress?+
Progress is based on demonstrated evidence—not simply completing sessions, collecting points, or maintaining a streak.
Each questioning skill develops independently. You may demonstrate strength in one area while still developing another. The system uses evidence across multiple situations to determine what deserves reinforcement and what you are ready to practice next.
One difficult session does not erase growth you have already demonstrated. It becomes another piece of evidence that can guide future practice.
Will I receive a Question IQ score?+
No.
There is no public ranking, leaderboard, or single numeric Question IQ. Compressing a complex human skill into one number would create false precision and distract from the specific behaviors you can actually practice.
The program focuses on evidence, coaching, and progression instead.
Can a current session be worse than an earlier one?+
Yes. Skill development is not perfectly linear.
Your performance in one session may be weaker than it was in another situation. The debrief should reflect that honestly. At the same time, previously demonstrated cumulative progress does not disappear because of one difficult rep.
A challenging session is practice—not failure.
Who can see my conversations and progress?+
The program is designed as private, individual practice—not manager observation.
There are no public scores, team leaderboards, or employer-facing performance dashboards. Your practice exists to help you improve, not to create another setting in which you feel evaluated in front of other people.
Before paid access opens, the privacy policy will explain how account information, transcripts, and practice records are stored and handled.
Joining the program
What should I know about the beta program?+
The principles behind the program have been developed and put into practice with live sales teams. The online practice experience is fully functional and has already been tested, evaluated, and reworked through multiple rounds of real use.
The beta is focused on refining how those principles translate into a complete twelve-week online experience, strengthening selected areas of content, and seeing how individual salespeople experience the progression.
The complete program, pricing, participation expectations, and application details are included in the beta offer.
What happens after the twelve-week program?+
The twelve-week program establishes the questioning skill foundation. After completing it, participants will have the option to continue with an ongoing practice experience designed to reinforce their skills, prepare for important conversations, and keep their questioning instincts alive.
